Dear Quarterbackers:
We made a little switcheroo. John Chavis will be our speaker Monday, October 13th, not Jim Donnan as previously noted. Coach Donnan will speak to us later, but this week we get the Chief!
As previously noted, it is much easier to write this newsletter when the W’s are coming, but life goes on nonetheless. What makes this week extra hard for me (please permit me feeling sorry for myself for just a moment) is that I have to wear Georgia red at my Atlanta office this week. Seems old bets have a way to come back to haunt you. Last year the same office had to wear beautiful orange. Yep, pictures to prove it. Great time that was…but now is payback. I think I will call in sick!
Well, we are all feeling blue and it is not funny. All we can do is try to stay focused and get the next one. No time to wallow in pity and I promise no one on our schedule feels sorry for us. Eric Berry (what a man, the best sophomore safety I have ever seen!) said it best; “we must cling to each other and challenge ourselves to get better.” Well said.
The Knoxville Quarterback Club is a great place to cling. As always, we will honor this week’s players of the week, a yesterday’s hero and a local game official. Calhoun’s on the River at 11:30am.
Don’t miss John Chavis! I am sure it is tough to address anyone after a disappointing loss to a bitter rival, but Coach Chavis is a true professional and will find a way. Let’s make him feel at home and among friends.
It was brought to my attention that a few of you were not getting these weekly reminders and for that I apologize. I did find an error in my distribution that should be corrected now. However, you can always get the latest at www.knoxqbclub.com.
It is and always will be Great to be a Tennessee Vol!
