Knoxville Quarterback Club

November 23rd Newsletter

Dear Quarterbackers;

My heart is heavy as I know yours will be. LaTain McGhee, long time Quarterback Club member, former KQBC president, high school official, husband, father and friend passed away on Saturday at St. Mary’s hospital.

I will miss his cheerful smile, sunny disposition and soft spoken encouragement. I will miss our discussions about our faith and seeing him on Monday at the Quarterback Club. Most of all, I will miss his friendship. All of us who knew him are better off because of it. I am truly thankful for LaTain McGhee.

I am also thankful for the Knoxville Quarterback Club, where we celebrate wins and try to forget about the losses! Celebration will rule Monday since the world order has been  re-established by our win over Vanderbilt. Daggum it, we needed that! Let’s keep the momentum and finish out with a home win over Kentucky, while celebrating one of the best coaching tenures this school, conference and nation has ever seen in Phillip Fulmer. Yes, we have much to be thankful for this week!

Tom Lemming and Jamie Newberg will share the podium at Calhouns Monday as our guest speakers. Widely known as two of the very best recruiting analyst in the nation, they will give us insight into football’s second season, which is the countdown to signing day.

It has been a long season. This upcoming week will be full of emotion…it already is.
