Knoxville Quarterback Club

October 5th Newsletter

Dear Quarterbackers:

AT this point, there is no such thing as an UGLY win! We desperately needed a W and we got one. No one is saying that we are back on track, but we did take a significant step in the right direction.

There were many positives to build on. Eric Berry continues to progress as one of the very best players in the game. Nick Reveiz started for the first time in his young career, subbing for the injured Ellix Wilson,  and had himself a whale of a ballgame.

Many of you know that I must spend much of my time in Atlanta among bulldogs of all sizes, shapes and degree of ugliness.  I have yet to meet one that doesn’t hold great contempt for anything orange. That is just one more reason why this week is a special one for me. Last year, two of my employees who happen to be among the most obnoxious and vocal Georgia fans, challenged me to a bet where the loser had to wear the other’s colors for the entire Monday after the game. I have pictures! It was great! Of course, there is always “next” year and next year is here. I do not look good in red so we have to find a way to get this thing done! The thought of pictures being taken of me in that compromising and horrific position makes me have thoughts of moving to Canada!

Please join us tomorrow at Calhouns on the River to hear and see Tony Barnhart. Mr. Barnhart is one of the most decorated journalist, and now sports commentator, in the college game. I have always respected his perspective and approach which is consistently fair and informed. He is an absolute joy to hear speak, so don’t miss it!

Let’s think positive and build on this win. No such thing as a pretty loss and at this point, there is no such thing as an ugly win.  Let’s find a way!

It is Great to be a Tennessee Vol!

Mike
